Shalena Broadnax rejoins Sandler Search where she began her executive search career. Most recently, Shalena served as the executive recruiter for the KIPP network of schools. In her first year at the KIPPĀ Foundation, Shalena launched and placed six executive leaders across four KIPP regions, ranging from school principals to executive directors. During her tenure, she also increased the racial diversity of finalist pools from 40% to over 70% in one year.
Shalena has over a decade of experience within and at the service of nonprofits. Shalena has placed executives for organizations with budgets ranging from nearly $1M to eight-figures as an internal and external headhunter. She has partnered with domestic and international organizations focused on K-12 education, advocacy and social entrepreneurship. Shalena received her B.A. from Brooklyn College and is a recent graduate of George Washington University (GWU) where she received her masters degree in organizational leadership and learning. She also completed her master-level coursework at New York University. Originally from New York City, Shalena currently resides in Washington, DC with her husband and son.
