Talent Lead

Hillary Gardenswartz is passionate about connecting top talent with the right nonprofit organizations. With a deep background in education and the nonprofit sector, she brings hands-on experience and a commitment to ensuring both clients and candidates feel heard and understood.

Before joining Sandler Search, Hillary held leadership roles at Civic Spirit and The Jewish Education Project, where she worked with top professionals to reimagine teen engagement. She partnered with educators across diverse settings—day schools, camps, congregations, and youth groups. Earlier in her career, Hillary spent twelve years teaching high school Rabbinics and Judaic Studies, including eight as department chair at Schechter Westchester (now The Leffell School), where she helped students connect deeply with texts and their world.

Hillary holds a BA from Brandeis University, and two Master’s degrees from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where she also serves as a Trustee. She lives in NYC and, though running isn’t her first love, she’s proudly completed the NYC Marathon 11 times with Fred’s Team for Memorial Sloan Kettering.
