Jewish Communal Fund (JCF) is the largest Jewish donor advised fund, with a 52-year track record of making charitable giving simple and efficient for our Fundholders. JCF manages over $2.8 billion in charitable assets for 4,800 funds. THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director, Philanthropic Engagement & Advisor Relations, under the direction of the Vice President of Philanthropic Services, will cultivate and nurture relationships with advisors to high-net-worth individuals and oversee the strategy for a diverse portfolio of JCF Fundholders. This dynamic new role offers an exciting opportunity to meet new people, build and maintain a robust network, and represent JCF at a variety of industry events. By engaging with financial services professionals, advisors, and institutions, and developing impactful programming, you will be at the forefront of JCF’s mission, making meaningful connections and driving philanthropic success. Key responsibilities include:

Relationship Management

  • Cultivate, build, and steward relationships with professional advisors to high-net-worth individuals, including financial advisors, family office professionals, attorneys, and accountants.
  • Focus on individuals who work at asset management, hedge funds or private equity firms that do not offer DAFs and Institutional relationships with select B/D or RIA firms.
  • Establish and strengthen direct-to-consumer relationships with asset management firms and/or hedge funds.

Portfolio Strategy

  • Oversee and drive the strategy for a diverse portfolio of JCF Fundholders, with a particular focus on individuals who work on Wall Street and the financial services community.
  • Develop and implement programming for the JCF Advisor Network.
  • Create and execute a strategic outreach plan, identifying necessary materials and events to maximize effectiveness.

Fundraising and Development

  • Collaborate with colleagues on the development team to develop and refine fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals and priorities, with a particular focus on aggressive growth.
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to uncover new opportunities, drive growth in donor engagement, and actively attract and solicit new funds for JCF.
  • Leverage existing relationships with high-level fund holders in existing network to maximize fundraising potential and secure significant new contributions.

Representation and Advocacy

  • Act as a spokesperson for JCF with the ability to present a deep understanding of the tax benefits, value proposition and service offering.
  • Communicate the benefits of donor-advised funds and the tax and estate planning advantages to financial professionals clearly and fluently.
  • Represent JCF at industry events and conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 7-10 years of experience in sales or development, particularly within the financial services industry.
  • A background in accounting, law, or finance, bringing credibility and expertise to financial services.
  • Ability to create and execute strategic outreach plans, identifying necessary materials and events to maximize effectiveness.
  • Strong ability to communicate financial offerings and tax and estate planning benefits clearly to finance professionals, with a willingness to learn about donor-advised funds (DAFs) and integrate this knowledge into financial discussions.
  • Proven ability to develop sales territories, ideally with experience from a financial services company.
  • Passionate about JCF’s mission, with an understanding of Jewish communal values. Connections within the Jewish community are a plus.
  • Commitment to a collaborative approach, achieving both individual and group goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, able to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Enterprising and proactive in uncovering new opportunities and driving results.
  • Capacity to manage high volumes of work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Other Requirements:
This is a NYC-based role that requires a blend of in-office presence and time spent in the field at meetings and conferences.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required.

COMPENSATION: $150,000-$175,000 plus a robust benefits package.
