ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Sandler Search is seeking a strategic, hands-on Manager, Business Development & Communications to play a central role in how the firm grows, communicates, and shows up in the market. As a core member of the team, the Manager will partner with search leads to support the full lifecycle of a search, while also helping to advance the firm’s broader business development efforts.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role at the intersection of business development, communications, and design. As the firm continues to expand its reach and deepen its partnerships, this individual will lead key initiatives that strengthen market presence and ensure a clear, compelling, and consistent voice across all touchpoints.

The Manager will drive the evolution of the firm’s digital presence, including leading a website refresh, and will shape how we engage clients, candidates, and the broader nonprofit community through thoughtful, high-quality communications.

Key responsibilities include:

Business Development & Marketing

  • Develop and refine core marketing materials, including pitch decks, one-pagers, proposals, and client-facing collateral.
  • Ensure all materials reflect a clear, consistent, and compelling articulation of the firm’s work, impact, and thought leadership.
  • Translate searches and placements into concise, engaging narratives for external audiences.

Search Communications & Engagement

  • Design and produce branded search announcements and outreach materials for active searches and press for completed searches.
  • Partner with search teams to craft polished, thoughtful candidate and client communications and materials aligned with the firm’s voice.
  • Help shape how opportunities are positioned to attract high-caliber, mission-aligned candidates.

Digital & Content

  • Lead execution of firm communications, including newsletters and targeted email campaigns.
  • Manage and optimize platforms such as LinkedIn, Constant Contact, and similar tools to drive audience engagement.
  • Lead and support the refresh and ongoing evolution of the firm’s website; partner with external vendors to execute updates and enhancements.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

This role offers a unique opportunity to operate across strategy and execution—combining business development, search engagement, and design and in a dynamic environment. The Manager will be a team player who is deeply mission-aligned and brings versatile skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Professional Experience: 5-7 years of experience in communications, marketing, business development, or a related field.
  • Advanced PowerPoint & Design Skill: High level of proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, AI, and other tools with a strong eye for layout and a polished output.
  • Email Marketing & Digital Communications Experience: Experience using platforms such as Constant Contact, LinkedIn, or similar tools to design and execute campaigns.
  • Exceptional Writing & Storytelling Skills: Ability to communicate ideas clearly and compellingly across formats, with strong narrative flow and attention to tone and detail.
  • Website & Technical Agility: Experience supporting a website build or refresh and comfort learning new tools quickly with an interest in improving systems and workflows.
  • An Adaptable & Team-Oriented Mindset: Comfort navigating shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment with a flexible, can-do approach.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this role is $80,000 – $95,000, commensurate with experience.

LOCATION: Remote (U.S.-based), with a preference for East Coast candidates.

TO APPLY: Please submit a resume and thoughtful cover letter here; if available, please also send examples of relevant work (e.g., presentations, written materials, or campaigns).
