United Nations Watch – USA (UN Watch USA) is a U.S. based nonprofit, which supports the work of UN Watch and has a growing presence and team focused on North America.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The National Campaign Director (Director), serving as the chief fundraising officer and lead professional in the U.S., will conceive and drive fundraising, programming, and advocacy strategies and activities for UN Watch USA in the U.S. and Canada. The funds will be used to both support UN Watch USA’s vital mission as well as the multi-year strategic vision for growth and expansion.
The Director will create and execute a new development strategy and plan to expand UN Watch USA’s current donor base, including identifying, engaging, and managing donors. The plan would establish a donor giving structure, outline donor and community outreach and events, and work to increase awareness and retention. As part of the plan, the successful candidate can attend and leverage important UN debates and diplomatic events in New York City.
The Director will be based in a new UN Watch USA office in New York with a small team.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Design and implement a professionalized fundraising structure and plan to grow revenues and the North American donor base;
Identify, cultivate and solicit gifts from individuals and foundations in North America including pro-Israel supporters;
Foster positive donor relationships and ensure a structured stewardship plan and compelling donor experience;
Create and lead cultivation and outreach events and activities to engage and broaden the prospect pool and increase brand awareness;
Develop and coordinate a plan to strengthen UN Watch USA’s programming and advocacy activities in New York and elsewhere in North America; and
Manage fundraising processes and professionalize procedures including original research, database, grant proposals, compliance, and reporting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
UN Watch USA is seeking to recruit an ambitious, experienced, dynamic, intellectual, and highly-organized National Campaign Director with significant fundraising experience. The successful candidate will be passionately and fully committed to UN Watch USA’s mission and fascinated by global politics, media, and Israel.
Key Experiences and Attributes Include:
At least five years of fundraising experience, with a track record of success in growing financial resource development and fundraising;
Strong understanding of fundraising models and personal experience with donor research, identification, cultivation, and solicitation;
Self-motivated, energetic, outgoing, and results oriented, with an ability and desire to set and reach ambitious goals;
Effective communicator and advocate; articulate and persuasive both verbally and in writing
Experience in and ability to conceptualize and execute high-level cultivation events;
Strong computer and organizational skills, including experience with fundraising databases and database management;
Determined and entrepreneurial with a strong, independent work ethic; and
A fierce advocate for human rights and democracy as well as fighting anti-Israel prejudice and anti-Semitism.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
TRAVEL: Domestic travel expected and occasional travel to Canada, Switzerland, and Israel.
COMPENSATION: Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
