ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
The North American Director (“Director”) will be the lead professional in North America, serving as a strategic leader, partnership builder, growth driver and external liaison for Masa Israel Journey (“Masa”). They will develop and lead an entrepreneurial vision and plan to position Masa as the premier engagement experience for Jewish young adults across North America.
The key priorities of this position in the first 18 months will be to:
Serve as a dynamic leader and key spokesperson for Masa in North America;
Significantly grow and diversify partnerships to extend brand awareness;
Substantially increase annual participant recruitment; and
Ensure a positive, motivated organizational culture in the North America office.
The Director will manage the New York-based COO and staff of 15, as well as a network of campus ambassadors. This role will report to the Acting CEO of Masa Israel Journey, Ofer Gutman, located in Jerusalem, and be a part of the senior management team.
Overall Responsibilities Include:
Strategy and Partnerships
Develop a far-reaching recruitment strategy to grow engagement and participation across North America
Identify and achieve new partnerships to grow brand recognition and market awareness as well as program and participant opportunities; and
Cultivate and steward key relationships including partner agencies, foundations, Jewish Federations and university administrations.
Marketing and Branding
Extend and enhance the brand to reach new, larger markets of young Jews in North America including serving as a visible voice for Masa;
Devise and execute on a dynamic and creative marketing, digital, and PR strategy that leverages the unique brand of Masa as a vital engagement experience; and
Engage Masa alumni by creating valuable networking opportunities, as well as using alums as a marketing resource.
Inspire, supervise, and mentor a high-performing professional team in North America, in collaboration with the COO;
Partner with key stakeholders to support fundraising and donor cultivation for Masa; and
Provide fiscally sound management and fiduciary oversight of the organization, managing a budget of approximately $2M in partnership with the COO, finance and administration staff.

Masa is the leader in immersive international experiences in Israel for young adults ages 18 to 30. Masa connects young Jewish adults from across the globe to Israel and their Jewish identity by offering a diverse portfolio of 2- to 12-month programs focused on career development and leadership development opportunities. This includes internship, academic, volunteer, gap year and Jewish studies programs. Since Masa’s founding in 2004 by the Prime Minister’s Office of the Government of Israel, together with The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), over 150,000 young people from more than 60 countries have participated in Masa programs.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Travel: Domestic and international travel approximately 40% including occasional trips to Israel.
Compensation: Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
