The New York City Police Foundation, Inc. (“Police Foundation”) was established in 1971 by business and civic leaders as an independent, non-profit organization to provide critical resources for innovative New York Police Department (“NYPD”) programs that make New York City a safer place to live, visit and work. A brief video history can be found here.

The Police Foundation supports programs designed to help the NYPD stay on the cutting edge of rapidly evolving technology, strategies, and training; funding includes seed, transitional and other critical funds that often leverage broader results for the NYPD.

With a budget of more than $10.5 million and a staff of nine, the Police Foundation works closely with the NYPD and the Police Commissioner to implement strategic programs. The Police Foundation encourages and funds NYPD programs in five main areas: Counterterrorism, Community Support, Reward Programs, Scholarships and Professional Development, and Improved Technology.

The Director of Development and Events supports the President & CEO to implement and drive all the Police Foundation’s annual fundraising and event activities.

  • Manage other special events and activities that serve to provide greater visibility to the work of the Police Foundation, raise money, cultivate prospective contributors, and/or recognize current donors.
